Classes + workshops
Classes
Classes and writing workshops are run by Chris from time to time. Contact her for details at info@chrismansell.com.
Chris also does workshops in exotic places. If you want to go to Egypt and discover your inner writer while floating down the Nile on a cruise ship (among other things), it can be done. If you'd like to go to Italy and check out literary locales and do writing workshops there, you can do that too. If you'd like to go to a tropical island somewhere and discover your inner writer you can do that. If there are other places you want to go contact her at info@chrismansell.com with your requests. Writing group requests are welcome and discounts apply to group bookings of sufficient size.
Her next trip departs for Morocco 29 September-October 2006. Proposed trips for 2007 are: Egypt, Turkey (and possibly Greece) and Rajasthan (India). Put your name down to have details sent to you and to reserve a place.
Workshops
She has run workshops for a large number of years, though she prefers adults she has done a lot of schools work and particularly likes gifted and talented smarty pantses and/or kids who can barely write at all. She has conducted workshops and/or given talks in preschools, kindergartens, community groups, theatre companies (and a circus), primary and secondary schools, TAFE, universities and worked with other interested groups. Mostly she gives talks, general writing workshops, or poetry workshops, although she has written a number of plays in workshop situations as well. Emailinfo@chrismansell.com her with your requests.
Mentoring
Like most writers Chris informally mentors others just as she is mentored informally herself. In addition, however, she has had a number of 'mentees' from the Northern Territory, Tasmania and New South Wales funded from the Australia Council mentorship scheme, the Australian Society of Authors or through writer's centres. This process gives attention to an individual's work on a one on one arrangement. Contact info@chrismansell.com or go through your local Writers Centre or the Australian Society of Authors.
